It's based on years of experience, but there are no guarantees that vocal improvements will be made, as each person's voice is unique.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when our practices change or the law requires it. We'll post the revised policy on the Site and update the "Last updated" date.

- Communications: anything you send us by email, in replies to our newsletters, or through our contact form.
Information we collect automatically
When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Site ("Usage Data"): IP address, browser and device type, pages you view, products you look at, items you add to your cart, how you arrived at the Site (for example from a search engine, a YouTube link, a social-media post, an email or an ad, including any tracking tags in the link), the date and time of your visit, and similar information. We collect Usage Data with cookies and similar technologies. See "Cookies and tracking technologies".
Information from third parties
- Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders.
- Our email provider (Mailchimp), which tells us whether our emails were delivered, opened or clicked.
- Advertising and analytics partners (Google, Meta), as described below.
How we use your personal information
- To provide the Services: process and deliver your orders, give you access to recordings and downloads, run live seminars and send you the link to join, manage your account, and send you order confirmations and service messages.
- Marketing: send you our newsletter and other emails about Melissa's courses, seminars and products if you've signed up or bought from us (you can unsubscribe at any time), and show you advertising on other platforms that is more relevant to you.
- To understand and improve the Services: see which pages, videos, emails and links people respond to, where our visitors come from, and which products are popular, so we can decide what to offer and improve the Site.
- Security and fraud prevention: detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and abuse.
- To communicate with you: answer your questions and respond to feedback.
- Legal: comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use them, and similar technologies such as pixels and scripts, to run the Site, remember your cart, measure how the Site is used and, where you allow it, show you relevant ads. The tools currently in use:
- Shopify runs the store, cart, checkout and customer accounts, and provides basic store analytics (essential and analytics).
- Google Analytics measures visits, traffic sources, pages and purchases in aggregate (analytics).
- Meta pixel and Meta Conversions API measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads and let us show relevant ads to people who visited the Site. Where enabled, some order data (such as an email address in hashed form) is shared server-to-server so Meta can match it (advertising).
- Mailchimp sends our emails and records opens and clicks and, on the Site, pages viewed and carts, so we can send relevant follow-ups such as an abandoned-cart reminder (marketing).
- OptiMonk shows sign-up pop-ups and measures them (marketing).
- Vimeo and YouTube play the videos embedded on the Site; the video hosts may set their own cookies (functional, third party).
Your choices. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and certain other regions see a cookie banner and can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and change their choice later through the "Cookie preferences" link. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may then not work. To opt out of Google Analytics across the web, you can install Google's browser add-on. You can control ad personalization in your Facebook and Instagram settings.
How we disclose personal information
We share personal information with service providers who help us run the Services, only for the purposes described above:
- Shopify (store hosting, order processing, customer accounts and privacy tools).
- Payment processors: Authorize.net and PayPal process your payment; we don't store full card numbers.
- Mailchimp (email marketing and sign-up forms), Zapier (connects our store to our other tools), Zoom (live seminars), Vimeo (hosts the recordings and videos you buy or request), OptiMonk (pop-ups), Google (analytics) and Meta (advertising measurement and ad audiences).
We may also disclose information to comply with the law, to protect our rights and those of others, or in connection with a business transfer. We don't sell your personal information for money, and our mailing list is never sold. Under some US state laws, sharing information with advertising partners such as Meta may count as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising; you can opt out through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of the Site, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires it.
Live seminars and recordings
Our seminars are held live on Zoom and are recorded. The recording is provided to ticket holders, and we may sell it afterwards as a class recording. Short clips of class video may also be used in our promotional videos or advertisements. If you turn on your camera or microphone, ask a question, or otherwise interact with Melissa during a class, your image, voice or name may be part of the recording and of such clips. If you'd rather not appear, keep your camera and microphone off and send your questions by email.
Email marketing
If you sign up for the Starter Toolbox or our newsletter, or buy from us and accept marketing at checkout, we'll send you emails from Melissa. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing doesn't stop the order and service emails you need. We record whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, and the link you used to sign up (for example whether it came from YouTube or an ad), to understand what people find useful.
Children
The Services aren't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, keep records of your purchases, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Email subscribers who are inactive for a long time may be removed from our mailing list.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of your information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
- US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others): use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the Site footer, or contact us below. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: we process your information on the bases of contract (your orders), consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies) and legitimate interests (running and improving the Services, security). Your information is transferred to and processed in the United States; where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards.
To exercise your rights, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
